Flavor is king with our dried chanterelle. These ubiquitous beauties are best suited for soups as they tend to rehydrate a bit tougher than the other varieties. The flavor makes up for it, and after pureeing or braising for long periods they will become much softer and have a strong apricot scent that makes this mushroom most people’s favorite.

All of Foraged and Found Edibles dried mushrooms are dried at room temperature using fans- omitting heat (used by the vast majority of mushroom drying houses) allows the natural flavor and color of the mushroom to shine.

If you are only ordering dried mushrooms, your order must be a minimum of 1/2 pound combined. 

All dried products are shipped FedEx Ground.

To reconstitute dried mushrooms, pour simmering water to just cover the mushrooms and let sit for 15-30 minutes. This is best done by barely covering the dried mushrooms with the water, cover with saran wrap(this helps with steaming) and letting it sit and rehydrate for 15 to 30 minutes. You can save the liquid once straining out the mushrooms as a stock, but is best used after pouring through coffee filter or a fine sieve to remove any grit.
